More Information on Residential Treatment Facilities
I’ve done a little bit of research and found some stuff out.
The State of California has the following information available on the web:
- LA County Treatment Provider Listing (PDF) - Lists treatment facilities for 18 - 20 year olds.
- Narcotic Treatment Program Directory (PDF) - Lists Narcotic Treatment Programs available in the state.
- Licensing and Certification Branch Directory (PDF) - Lists all licensed treatment facilities, residential and non-residential
From this information, I created a map (Google Earth required) that shows where the licensed residential treatment facilities are located, as of 9-13-2006. I’m sure that there are several facilities around that do not have or require licenses. There is also the new facility at the corner of 10th Street and Walnut Ave. that is missing from the list.
I also found a document that describes the limited regulation at the city level. The document is a FAQ from the city of Newport Beach, CA titled “Residential Care Facilities”. I am unable to find similar information on the City of Long Beach website.
